Encaustic waterfall with Rocks formed of tar on clear drafting film
Waterfall #55
Encaustic on Clear Drafting Film
50.25 inches high by 19.5 inches wide
2012

Primarily turquoise and white water falling on black rocks with white water swirling around the rocks. Meant to hang several inches from the wall on stand-offs to allow shadows on the background wall.

The artist has specially treated the drafting film so that encaustic adhers -- an unconventional substrate for encaustic. The material is chosen to produce clarity and luminescence to the water and well as give mysterious shadows to the piece. .
